About Audacity...

Displays the About Audacity dialog containing: the Audacity version information and credits, list of the optional libraries and features enabled, and our open source GPL license.

Note: on Macs this item is under the Audacity menu.

Manual (in web browser)

Click here to access Help information - what all the commands and buttons do, and how to use Audacity.

Show Log ...

Choosing this menu item brings up the "Debug Log" window. As the name implies, this is a debugging aid and the window should normally be empty except for specific beta builds where the developers are tracking a bug.

Will this be enabled in 2.0?

Screenshot Tools

Displays the Screenshot window. This tool assists you in capturing all or part of your project window to an image file. Click the "Choose..." button to pick the place where you want to save the screenshot. Then click the button corresponding to the part of the project window you want to capture an image of. Note: Screenshot Tools cannot capture some individual parts of the interface such as menus, or dialogs that do not allow you to click anywhere else while the dialog is open.

Run Benchmark...

Performs a mock editing routine to test how fast Audacity runs on your machine.

Audio Device Info...

Technical information about your detected audio device(s).
