All images throughout the manual should be set as "link=" to kill the links - to avoid relocating the user into the alpha Manual. See Consistency for the required syntax.- Peter:Indeed - and also in quite a lot of other places in the Manual. I'll try to get some time to look at that.
- Peter 19Aug14: I experimented with this (there is one example "Getting" started). I am loath to continue with this sub-project as the syntax involved is quite complex. This page is complicated enough already and hard to maintain, introducing complex display-text will make this page a lot more complex and a lot harder to maintain - and make it easier to introduce errors. So my vote is -0.5 for this.
- Gale 19Aug14: I still think it's a reasonable idea to encourage interaction and learning. I added two more examples. The syntax is [[Page title|Display text for link]]. If the display text for the link is the same as the Page title, just give the page title again, as in the Playback Tips example. If you prefer I do this sometime, please just make a user page giving suggestions for the hover text (but it's not P1).
- Peter 20Aug14: Ok, I've had a long day adding hover texts to much of this page - I decided that utility for the user outweighed readability and editability of the markup text for us editors. I have not touched the content of "Bills-amazing-imagemap" as that looks absolutely fine as is. I don't think it's necessary to provide hover texts for the 1-13 list above the imagemap. I would have tackled the Preferences box , but I don't know how to do that - they are formatted with their own divs.
ToDo-2Please review the content of the hover texts to ensure they are satisfactory.

- Gale 22Aug14: Done, mostly reducing or condensing. A big job (as you know) so please check for typos or other mistakes. I opted not to have full stop at the end of a single sentence, given image hover text does not do so. I think the hover text makes the duplicated "Splitting a recording into separate tracks using Labels" in Advanced Topics look silly, so I provisionally removed that duplicate.
Do we want hover text for the numbered list in the Guide? I would assume yes, and also for the Wiki and Forum links.
- Peter 23Aug14: I proofread your corrections to the hover texts and found only one typo (I'm impressed). I rippled through one of your changes to the target page. I will work next on the Prefs and then the numbered list.
