Version 3.0.0 is primarily a release for a unitary, single self-contained, project file.

Unitary Project
A single AUP3 project file win an aup3 extension implemented in a SQLite database - no more "dangerous piles-of-files" AUP file and related data folder
Recovery is likely to be different - simpler (no orphans, no missing block-files - all dealt with silently under-the-hood)
