Recovery
In the event of a crash while you are recording or editing an Audacity project, the next time you start Audacity it will attempt to recover your project file and audio. You will see the following dialog box displayed:
Recover Projects
Click on the Recover Projects button to get Audacity to attempt to recover your project. Please note that this cannot always be done successfully.
Do Not Recover
If you do not wish to recover the projects, then click on the Do Not Recover buton. Please note carefully that if you select this option then the damaged projects will no longer be available for recovery at a future time, as Audacity will dlete the temporary project files to release disk space.
Quit Audacity
If you click on the Quit Audacity button, then Audacity will simply close and the temporary project files will be retained, enabling you to decide whether you wish to recover the projects or not the next time you start Audacity.
Manual method if Automated does not work
If Automated Recovery does not work, please see this page in the Audacity Wiki.
