Peter 12Apr17: This page became defunct for 2.2.0 as selection has been removed from the Edit Menu and placed in its own menu. So the Select Menu page replaces this page which is thus deprecated (but we may need a redirect to trap links to here from within the Manual, just in case we don't find them all).
For 2.2.0 Select has been moved from the Edit Menu and given its own Select Menu. See this page for details on selection.
